Pre-Race: - Saturday, July 12, 2008
3pm - 7pm: Race packet pick-up at the American Legion building, Colonial Beach.
Race Day - Sunday, July 13, 2008
5:30am - 6:30am: Race packet pick-up & body marking
6:40am: Final instructions (Mandatory)
6:50am: Race start 3-4 waves 5 minute intervals
9:30am - Noon: Refreshments at American Legion building
11:00am - Noon: Awards ceremony at American Legion building

Body marking will be done on Sunday at Days Inn.
Competitors must be familiar with the 10 most commonly
violation rules and penalties--this will be enforced by Staff.
Packet pick-up will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 3:00-
7:00 pm and on Sunday, July 13 from 5:30-6:30 am at the American
Legion Building.
Post Race Refreshments will be held at the American
Legion--pizzas, subs, cookies, chips, bottled water, and
more.
Participants will be issued a rental timing chip at
Saturday's and Sunday's Packet Pick-Up area. All rental
chips must be returned. There is a $30.00 fee for all nonreturned
chips.
We usually do advise that participants wear their chip on the left ankle
to avoid the potential for getting any part of the strap caught in the
drive train. This also helps your chip removal volunteers get to them
easier.
Results and Penalties will be posted at the American
Legion Building.
Water temperature will be announced at the Packet Pick-
Up Area on Saturday and Sunday.

No riding inside the Transition Area--walk your bike in and
out of the Transition Area.
Participants only in the Transition Area.
Cannot remove bike until notification from Officials.
No glass containers in the Transition Area.
Participants will not be allowed to mount bikes inside
transition area and will be made to dismount at transition
area entrance following the Bike segment.

Swimmers will exchange chip & strap to the
cyclists at their designated bike rack location in
the Transition Area.
Bikers will exchange chip & strap to the runners at
the same location--your designated bike rack
location in the Transition Area.

If you choose not to swim, notify Race Officials immediately.
Competitors will receive swim caps at Packet Pick-Up Area.
Swim waves will be posted at the Packet Pick-Up Area on
Saturday and Sunday.
Warm-Up ends at 6:40 am. Bull horn will sound.
All swimmers must be out.
Waves on the beach--follow instructions of the Race
Officials.
Swim will start in the water. Race starts at 6:50 am.
Swimmers keep to the outside of all floats, boats, canoes,
kayaks. Vessels and floats should always be on your right.
If you have trouble swimming, swim to the canoe or kayak or
yell "help".

No drafting!!! Draft Marshals will be on the course and
drafting rules will be enforced.
No bike inspections. Competitors are responsible for
their own equipment.
"Heads Up" Bike Course--Course is not closed to traffic.
Chin straps must be buckled at all times when on a
bicycle.
Bike number must be tied to your bike frame.
Hard shell helmets must be worn.
WALK - do not ride in the transition area.
Cannot remove bike until notification from Officials.
Please find your bike raack by your race number.
Sag wagon on the bike course.
Stay to the right to allow faster cyclists to pass on the
left.
All participants must walk or run their bicycles across
the red mat to ensure the chip has registered your time.
This must be done before the start of the bike race and
before the bike finish.

New Course: Out & back course, flat with plenty
of water stops.
You must wear the race number in front (with the
pull tag) that is provided. IMPORTANT: If you
do not have your race number clearly displayed
on you--in front--as you cross the finish line, you
will be assessed a 2-minute penalty.
No headphones, earphones, or any radio-type
devices will be allowed.
5-6 water stations will be on the course.
Chips & straps must be returned after the run
finish.
Course is open to vehicles.
Use caution at intersections--all main
intersections will be controlled by Police Officers
or Course Marshals.
